Castlewellan Forest Park – Castlewellan (22 miles) Castlewellan Forest Park covers 450 hectares of land lying north of the Mourne Mountains. Outdoor activities include camping and touring, walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing on the lake, canoeing , orienteering and has one of the largest hedge mazes in Europe.

Delamont Country Park – Killyleagh (7 miles) Situated on the shores of Strangford Lough in an area of natural beauty, Delamont Country Park offers peace, beauty and tranquillity, stunning views across Strangford Lough and a relaxing atmosphere.  Delamont is a place to enjoy a ‘get away from it all’ feeling!  Delamont is home to the Strangford Stone the tallest megalith in Ireland.

Castle Ward - Strangford (18 miles) The mansion house stands amongst gentle parkland looking over Strangford Lough. The working estate once included a water-powered sawmill, cornmill and farmyard. Visitors to the estate today can explore cultivated gardens, sheltered woodland and the shoreline of Strangford Lough. There are 32km of trails to explore on foot, by bike or on horseback, each providing a different view of the surrounding landscape. Filming for Game of Thrones also took place here.
